Dear Champion of the Bible, “You can’t stay in this house anymore.”
When Coffie* accepted Christ, he paid a price that millions of new believers around the world pay—his parents turned him out of his home.
But just like Joseph going to Egypt in the book of Genesis, God used this hardship as part of a much bigger plan for Coffie. He traveled from his home village to the capital city looking for work, and that’s where he heard about the Yari Bible translation project.
It was a God-moment. You see, at that time Coffie was the ONLY known believer who was also a native Yari speaker! The rest of the translation team had to be made up of non-believers.
The Yari have no written language, so Coffie and his fellow translators are working on an Oral Bible Translation (OBT) with one of our partner ministries. It’s the fastest and most effective way to reach people groups with an oral learning tradition.
Many OBTs start with free source text from Biblica in a related language. Thanks to generous friends like you, we’re also able to help financially support Coffie and translators like him in their important work.
I know you share my sense of urgency to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel, as quickly as possible, by whatever means God gives us. Your renewed support in 2023 will help expand OBT, AI-assisted translation, church-based translation, and other tools that get God’s Word into new languages faster than ever.
Will you make a gift to launch a strong new year right now? Your partner in ministry,
