Good morning,
My name is Jody, and I work on the Bible Gateway team. Today, I thought I'd share with you one of the ways I study the Bible. Like most of you, I only have a little spare time to read my Bible every morning. So, to make it easier, I start with a single verse. I receive the Verse of the Day each morning, delivered by Bible Gateway to my inbox. Often, I read it before I even get out of bed. In case you missed it, today's reading was Romans 12:2:

2Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (NIV) |

I frequently use the resources on Bible Gateway to see what can be gleaned from a verse. One of my favorite authors is Charles Stanley. Today, in the NASB Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Bible, his timely insight reminds me why it's important to study the Bible regularly. "God does not want us to try hard to sin less, but to depend upon His Spirit to be transformed into people who love to please God through willing obedience. That transformation begins with the mind." With that keen reminder, I have a renewed motivation to keep my mind and focus on my Bible studies. I'm so thankful that I have access to reminders like this each day! |
