Jesus visited the Mount of Olives a few times, but its significance the night He was betrayed by Judas is full of well-known events.
It was the night of The Last Supper, which ended in the Garden of Gethsemane. During that last meal, He washed the disciples' feet, revealed Judas as His betrayer, and prayed in agony, knowing what He was to face.
From there, He was taken by soldiers, sent to trial by Pontius Pilate, and was crucified.
That, however, was not Jesus' last time on the Mount of Olives. During His final appearance after His resurrection, He led His disciples there, blessed them, and was taken up to Heaven.
Clarified in Acts 1:12, the disciples returned to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives following Jesus' ascension to Heaven from there.
