You may be familiar with the discussion that Jesus’ disciples were having among themselves one day when they approached Him and asked, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”
Matthew 18 records Jesus’ response: "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
In this modern era, everything from social movements to identity politics are producing increased pressure to conform to certain groupthink dynamics. Childlike humility and holy inquisition at Jesus’ feet through the posture of prayer, will slice through the malaise of cultural expectations, social structures, and human or demonic ideologies that seek to shape us.

Why Does Hollywood Horror Keep Returning to Catholicism? — October 30: Catholicism supplies filmmakers with Gothic architecture, candles, relics, exorcisms, and priests portrayed as possessing Christ’s authority against evil. Scholars and directors say its traditions of suffering, martyrdom, Eucharistic body and blood, and spiritual warfare naturally suit the horror genre. These familiar symbols in turn shape public perceptions of the faith, preserving themes of grace, redemption, and confronting hidden evil. (RNS)

Canaanite Fortress From Era of Judges Reopens in Israel — November 1: The 3,200-year-old Gal’on Fortress in southern Israel’s Guvrin Forest has reopened after conservation and accessibility improvements. Archaeologists believe the square, four-towered structure guarded a strategic road and may have protected Canaanites from Philistine incursions during territorial struggles. Excavations uncovered living quarters, storehouses, and thousands of pottery fragments, including intact vessels likely used in worship of local gods. (Jerusalem Post)

In 2015, the internet stopped what it was doing to argue about a dress.
You remember. A photo of a striped dress went viral, and within hours the world had split into two camps: some people saw it as blue and black; others were absolutely certain it was white and gold. Over ten million people tweeted about it. Friendships were tested. (For the record: it was blue and black.)
What made the “dress debate” so fascinating to researchers wasn’t the dress. It was what it revealed about perspective: that two people can look at the exact same thing, in the exact same lighting, and see something different, based entirely on assumptions their brains were already making.
