Honor those who risk it all for Jesus …

Bible translation is still dangerous today View in web browser

Dear Champion of the Bible,

Often, when I’m sharing stories from our Bible translation teams, I can’t say exactly where they’re working ... and for a very good reason, as this tragic story illustrates.

A group of Muslim-background believers were hard at work putting our contemporary Arabic translation into 29 regional dialects in 14 countries across the Middle East to serve another 200 million people.

Seven of the team members were discovered by their community. And they paid for their love of Jesus with their lives.

Bible translation is not just difficult. In many places, it can be dangerous. You might expect, after this tragedy, that the remaining team members would quit for their own safety.

But they did not. In fact, more believers stepped forward. “We will complete this work for our people,” they said, “so that these translators did not die in vain.”

In all the languages of all the world, there are not enough words for this kind of devotion.

Yet there IS a way for you to honor the bravery of those who risk everything for Jesus. Generous partners have challenged us to raise $100,000 by April 30 and brought us halfway to the goal with a $50,000 gift. Now we’re seeking the help of caring, Bible-loving friends like you to get us the rest of the way.

Your gift today will be paired with challenge funds to provide Bibles and support translation in Muslim nations. Will you join in today?
