In Luke 1 Gabriel appears to Mary and tells her that Jesus is coming, and she will give birth to him. She was humble and steadfast in her faith of God. She was willing to be God's servant and accepted God's plan for her.

Digging deeper with The NIV Grace & Truth Study Bible sheds insight on the lessons we can learn from Mary:
"The angel assures Mary that God is at work by telling her about Elizabeth. Mary can be assured of these promises because God's word is powerful (v. 37; cf. Ge 18:14). Mary declares her glad submission to her Lord."
In fact, there are three lessons we can learn.
God uses those who are available and humble, regardless of their social standing.
We can trust God to keep all of his promises.
We can accomplish whatever God has called us to do because of his presence and power.
