Hey, friends!
Our dear friend Margaret Feinberg has a new study out that is going to fire us up to take action for Jesus and the Kingdom of God. James: What You Do Matters starts April 22nd and you're invited to join us for the FREE Online Bible study with the community at FaithGateway. Together, we're going to read the entire book of James and memorize a key Bible verse each week, all while enjoying the 5 free videos with Margaret. And, we're so excited Margaret's got some special bonuses in store just for OBS participants – including a live discussion with the OBS community during the study.
In this study, Margaret will help us discover that James sounds an awful lot like Jesus… and he should considering that he was Jesus' half-brother. He grew up with Jesus, played in the yard with Him, learned beside Him, and ate beside Him. He knew Jesus better than any of the disciples and he had a different perspective because God gave him a Brother who was also the Messiah!
"If you take the Sermon on the Mount and overlay it with the book of James, you'll start to think that James was plagiarizing his Brother in all the best ways." ~ Margaret
So, James' message to us matches Jesus' teaching very closely. He teaches with love and exhortation on practical action for our journey of faith, how we can act like God's people. We who have been saved by Christ show it! We look like it. We act like it. We live like we have been saved by grace.
As we rededicate ourselves to Jesus in this study, we'll also be reminded that every single part of us belongs to Him. James had his whole life turned upside down when he realized without a doubt that his Brother was the Messiah. James encourages us to recognize that everything we do, everything we say, every way we act, and every way we treat others matters because we are God's children made in His image, filled with His Spirit. We matter to Him!
So, let's pray, "God, what are You calling me to do today?" Are you ready to join us for this inspiring teaching?
