This is the time of year when many people are thinking about school… Either going back themselves or sending their young children off to be cared for by others. This can cause anxiety on many levels.
As anxiety builds in any situation, it's imperative to return to the Word of God. Let's pause and read Philippians 4:6-7:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
These two verses are often quoted separately but go hand in hand. Let's review one of the trusted resources in Bible Gateway Plus for more insight into how we can address our anxiety.
The NKJV Wiersbe Study Bible has a great way of clarifying and describing anxiety and connecting you back to God. Wiersbe writes that when you are anxious, you feel "pulled in different directions." Connecting that back to this passage, "Paul counsels us to take everything to God in prayer." By doing so, you'll find "'God's peace' guards the heart and mind."
