Good morning, my fellow Bible Gateway subscribers!
I hope you are like me because you love learning new things. I also hope you're better than me, get far less distracted, and have a remarkable ability to create new habits and stick with them.
I can't tell you how many services I've signed up for to learn new things, stick with it for about a month, and then slide back into old habits. Normally, this applies to streaming services with "how to" videos and books that give you step-by-step instructions on daily tasks.
The one thing I am consistent about is how I start my day by reading the verse of the day that comes to my inbox. And with it, I access Bible Gateway Plus to answer questions I may have about it.
Now, I don't want to say I'm lazy, but the extra steps of turning on the TV and navigating to the video or cracking open a book seem to get in my way.
Having the verse appear on my phone, which wakes me every morning, seems to make this habit so easy. I wake up, scan my inbox, open the Verse of the Day in my web browser, click the resources tab, and explore a few of my favorite resources.
Today, I opened the notes on Ephesians 1:9-10 from the NIV Quest Study Bible. I love this resource because it is set up with questions about each verse. So, when I haven't had my coffee yet, it gives me questions I can think about concerning the passage I just read.
The question, "Has God set a deadline?" caught my eye because, as I read "when the times reach their fulfillment" didn't strike me as "a deadline."
Here's the quote from the NIV Quest Study Bible, and I have highlighted what I want to remember:
