Christmas is a beautiful time of year, with stunning decorations, picturesque family photos, and gifts wrapped just right. But underneath it all, there can be pain that surfaces — maybe the loss of a loved one, a recent diagnosis, or an unresolved hurt that seems to sting a little more this time of year.
We feel the pain of still waiting, of still expecting some resolution to our suffering. So what do we do in the middle of it?
We fix our eyes on Jesus and we wait. The good news, writes Pastor Louie Giglio, is that waiting for Jesus is never passive — and we stand to gain three benefits of waiting on Him. |

Located near the Zarka River, the dig revealed massive sandstone blocks decorated with carvings of lions and banquets and dating to the eighth century BC, aligning with the Kingdom of Israel's peak. Allegedly intended to protect lower-caste Hindus from forced conversion, in practice these laws are used by Hindu nationalists to restrict religious freedom and generate violence against Christians and other minority faiths, who are seen as a threat to the social order. After extensive restoration, led by conservation expert Rudolf Boroš, the frescoes have revealed intricate scenes such as the crucifixion and symbols of the four evangelists.
