Elijah’s story is one of a faithful man who confidently followed God’s direction. 1 Kings 18 has what is arguably the most epic showdown between the Lord’s servant and a wicked leader, and it required unwavering faith from Elijah.

Why September? Because it commemorates both the 1569 publication of Casiodoro de Reina’s Biblia del Oso, the first complete Spanish Bible translated from Hebrew and Greek, and Jerome’s Latin translation legacy. It's easy to thank God when prayers are answered, relationships are flourishing, or unexpected blessings arrive. But what about the days when life feels heavy? When grief lingers, prayers seem unanswered, or you're simply exhausted?
The Bible speaks directly into those moments. Hebrews 13:15 invites us: "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise — the fruit of lips that openly profess his name."
Notice the word sacrifice. Sometimes praise costs us something. Sometimes thanksgiving is less about how we feel and more about where we choose to place our focus.
