Global Bible Month 2026 runs from November 1–30, inviting people around the world to engage with God’s Word for 30 consecutive days. Whether you’re opening the Bible for the first time or looking for a fresh start, this event offers an opportunity to (re)build a daily rhythm of reading, reflection, and prayer.
At its most basic, Global Bible Month is simply about reading the Bible every day during the month of November, and you can do that however you’d like. But if you’re looking for a little more direction or some new ideas to help you stay in the Word this month, here are some places you can start.

Right now, men and women behind bars are praying that God hears them. They still need to know how much Jesus loves them and that He has a plan for their lives.
Your gift to Prison Fellowship helps place a Bible in the hands of someone waiting to hear His voice, right where they are.

Violence and Funding Gaps Hinder Nigerian Bible Translation — October 19: The Nigeria Bible Translation Trust says translators have been killed and communities displaced as insecurity disrupts work. About 95% of funding comes from abroad, raising sustainability concerns, while shortages of linguists and consultants further limit progress. Marking its 50th anniversary, the organization urged Nigerian churches to increase support and younger Christians to contribute skills to translation efforts. (Christian Daily)

Chris Pratt and Pope Leo Explore St. Peter’s Tomb — October 19: The documentary Pétros Ení: Discovering the Origins follows the search for the apostle Peter’s remains beneath St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Narrated by Pratt and featuring Leo at the traditional burial site, the film recounts excavations begun in 1939 and the disputed identification of Peter’s relics. It also emphasizes Peter’s human weakness and the Christian belief that grace transformed him into an early church leader. Wider release is expected in 2027. (RNS)

J John Calls for More Evangelism Training — October 20: Evangelist J John said churches devote over 95% of their resources to worship and congregational wellbeing, leaving less than 5% for witness. Citing research finding only 36 of 1,000 evangelical churches in the UK had offered evangelism training during the previous decade, he urged annual instruction and outreach beyond existing members. Other speakers emphasized disciple-making, listening to young people, and personal relationships over online confrontation. (Christian Today)

Spiritual practices, sometimes referred to as spiritual disciplines, are a great gift to us. They are given as ways to deepen our relationship with God and loosen the hold the world has on us. The one practice that may attain that result the quickest, though certainly not the easiest, is fasting.
In the New Testament, the Jewish community practiced fasting twice a week. We know that Jesus fasted. We know that his disciples refrained from fasting while Jesus was with them, and we know that Jesus assumed they would resume a practice of fasting once he left.
Jesus taught in Matthew 6:16, “when you fast.” But for modern day Christians, fasting is not a commandment. It is encouraged, but not required.

The latest installment of the American Bible Society’s (ABS) report on the State of the Bible is on American belief in the supernatural. If that topic strikes you as more interesting than other data, put a pin in that; you may be part of the story.
Depending on who you talk to, it’s easy to think we live in a humanist, postmodern society where everything is science-based and logical. Like computers, we parse information as yes or no, black and white, with nothing landing in a gray area.
The numbers reveal something else, though: the true nature of how most Americans — not just Christians — view the world around them.
